Dr. Batoul A. Alwazan began her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (BMBCh) from Kuwait University in 2010. She pursued further specialization and completed her Specialty in Internal Medicine At the Kuwait Institution of Medical Specialty in 2016

Recognizing a growing need for expertise in the care of older adults, Dr. Alwazan sought advanced training in Geriatric Medicine at McMaster University in Canada and completed her geriatric fellowship in 2021.

Dr. Alwazan became interested in cognition and, in 2022, sought further training in cognitive and behavioural neurology from the University of Toronto.

Since 2022, Dr. Alwazan has been a pivotal part of the geriatric unit at Mubarak Al Kabeer Hospital. Her work has significantly advanced the management of complex geriatric syndromes and the advocacy for the well-being of elderly patients.
